Wedding Videography at Chateau Chantal
Chateau Chantal occupies a hilltop on Old Mission Peninsula north of Traverse City, Michigan, where its French-inspired chateau architecture looks out over Grand Traverse Bay in both directions: the East Arm to the right, the West Arm to the left, and the Leelanau Peninsula visible across the water on clear days. The peninsula's unique geography, surrounded on three sides by the Great Lakes, creates a microclimate that produces exceptional wine grapes and, for wedding cinematography, an equally exceptional quality of light reflected off so much surrounding water. It is a geography that exists nowhere else in the Midwest.
The water views from Chateau Chantal's ceremony and reception terraces give outdoor wedding film footage a luminous, open quality that vineyard venues without water access cannot replicate. Morning light arrives soft from the east over the bay, midday brings the full brilliance of a northern Michigan summer sky, and late afternoon produces long, golden light that skims across the Grand Traverse Bay surface and fills the Chateau Chantal vineyard rows in warm, directional illumination. For a wedding videographer, working at a venue with this combination of water, vineyard, and French chateau architecture is a genuinely exceptional privilege.
Northern Michigan's wine country is less traveled than Napa or the Willamette Valley, which gives Chateau Chantal weddings a sense of discovery and intimacy that more established wine regions sometimes sacrifice to their own fame. Film House Weddings is a huge fan of Chateau Chantal and would be honored to capture your celebration here, where Great Lakes beauty and wine country romance combine in one of the Midwest's most stunning and cinematically rich settings.

What makes Chateau Chantal special for wedding film?
Chateau Chantal sits atop Old Mission Peninsula north of Traverse City where Grand Traverse Bay's East and West Arms flank the property on both sides, creating water-reflected light from multiple directions throughout the day. Morning bay light is soft and cool, afternoon brings full Michigan summer brilliance, and late afternoon golden light skims the water surface and fills the vineyard rows in warm directional illumination. The French chateau architecture and the intimacy of northern Michigan's less-traveled wine country give wedding cinematography here a genuinely distinctive character.

Every Film House Weddings package is custom built for the couple, the venue, and the wedding day. Reach out through our Connect page and we will build a proposal tailored to your wedding.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend 9 to 18 months for peak season (May through October).
What is included in a wedding film package?
We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.
Do you work with our photographer and wedding planner?
Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.
Do you offer drone videography?
Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on, coordinated with local airspace rules and any venue restrictions.
How long until we receive our wedding film?
Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner. Let us know during the booking conversation and we will build a timeline that works for you. Final films are delivered digitally via a private link.
Do you provide raw footage?
Raw footage is available on request as an add-on. Most couples do not request it, since our edited cinematic film, reel, and optional full ceremony and speeches edit capture everything that matters. If raw footage is important to you, let us know during the proposal conversation and we will include it in your custom package.
Will you provide a second shooter?
Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
