The Sanderling Resort

Duck, NC

The Sanderling Resort wedding venue in Duck, NC

Wedding Videography at The Sanderling Resort

The Sanderling Resort sits on a narrow barrier island in Duck, North Carolina, where the Atlantic Ocean fronts the property to the east and Currituck Sound lies to the west, making it one of the few wedding venues in America where both sunrise over the ocean and sunset over the sound are available on the same day. For wedding cinematography, this dual-water position is exceptional: the light and color of the Atlantic at dawn gives morning coverage a cool, dramatic quality, while the sound's sheltered western exposure produces some of the most vivid sunset footage available on the entire East Coast.

The Outer Banks landscape is defined by its windswept dunes, sea oats, and the sense of a coastline that has resisted development and retained its elemental character. The Sanderling Resort engages with this landscape rather than replacing it, with architecture and gardens that feel native to the barrier island rather than imposed upon it. Ceremony setups on the oceanfront lawn at The Sanderling Resort place the couple at the literal edge of the Atlantic, with waves arriving behind them and the full visual weight of the open sea framing every wide shot of the wedding film.

For couples drawn to the wild, honest beauty of the Outer Banks and the particular romance of a true barrier island wedding, The Sanderling Resort offers a setting of genuine coastal grandeur on both sides. Film House Weddings is proud to be a preferred vendor at The Sanderling Resort, and we would be honored to capture your celebration here, where the Atlantic and the sound together give a wedding videographer more extraordinary light in a single day than most venues provide in a lifetime.

How far in advance should we book?

We recommend 9 to 18 months for peak season (May through October).

What is included in a wedding film package?

We build a custom package for every couple based on your vision and your wedding day. Typically, every client receives a 5 to 7 minute cinematic wedding film and a reel. Our team works directly with your planner and photographer to ensure seamless coverage from getting ready through the last dance.

Absolutely. Coordination with your vendor team is a core part of our process. We work directly with your planner and photographer before and during the wedding day to make sure everyone is in sync and no moment is missed.

Do you offer drone videography?

Yes. Drone coverage is available as an add-on, coordinated with local airspace rules and any venue restrictions.

How long until we receive our wedding film?

Delivery timelines are discussed during the proposal stage and depend on the season and edit scope. Expedited delivery is available if you need your film sooner. Our standard package is filmed by a two-person team. Additional shooters are available as an add-on.
